Job Title: Tax Manager – Cross-Border Personal Tax

Position Overview:
As a Tax Manager specializing in Cross-Border Personal Tax, you will work closely with high-net-worth individuals and expats to provide comprehensive tax planning and advisory services. You will manage and develop client relationships, ensure compliance with both the U.S. and Canadian tax regulations, and advise on tax-efficient structures. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with a team of experienced professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and review tax returns for individuals with U.S.-Canada cross-border tax issues, including compliance with both U.S. and Canadian tax laws.
- Provide tax advice and strategies to clients on cross-border tax issues, including residency, income sourcing, estate and trust planning.
- Review responses to tax notices, audits, and inquiries.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to provide a high level of service.
- Manage and mentor junior and senior staff, providing guidance and fostering their professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (one or more of Canadian CPA, US CPA, and/or US Enrolled Agent an asset).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in personal tax with a focus on individual cross-border taxation.
- Strong understanding of international tax laws, treaties and compliance requirements.
- Experience advising on expatriation tax, global mobility, and personal income tax for high-net-worth individuals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues to non-tax professionals.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
